In the first chapter we see that the book opens up with a letter, written to the Christians in Rome, by a fellow believer and a follower of Jesus - PAUL
Why is it important to be an effective worker, instead of just any worker?
It's like like this...
Imagine you hired a man on your job, and you have given him, all the responsibilities, and requirements on the job. Would you want him to just do the job, or would you want him to do an exceptional job, and to be an effective worker?
To be effective is to be successful in producing a desired or intended result.
Of course you wouldn't hire a man, who is ineffective and slacking on his job, who has not proven himself to you, to be effective and useful for your KINGDOM. The one you rule, and administer, and keep a close eye on it. No you will not trust this man, to take care of your Kingdom. The Lord is also watching us, to see who can be useful for his purposes.
Let us get a little bit closer.
Who was Paul, and why was this letter so important to write?
- Paul was an effective worker for the Kingdom of Heaven, and a messenger of Christ. I oftentimes pray that I will not just be a worker for the Kingdom, but an effective worker for his KINGDOM.

Paul was chosen to be a vessel of God, by GOD. He was not send, by a specific administration, or a church, no Paul, was chosen by God to carry out the assignment that he placed in his hand.
-Task of carrying out the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ to the outer parts of the world.
This was Paul's assignment handed to him by God. He isn't going to slack on the job, or be irresponsible about his tasks, no he will put his whole heart and mind into it. We too, chosen vessels of GOD, need to realize the importance of an assignment, passed down by God. The Creator of the Universe, Almighty God. Just the thought of His name should make us tremble, and fear GOD. Not in the scary way of course, in reverence and awe, with respect and honor. We must be faithful with the assignments that he places in our hands.
If I could picture PAUL in modern times, I would picture him writing this same message via email, or Facebook, or even via Blogger, to the body of Christ. Technology nowadays makes it possible to even appear in the farthest parts of Africa, China, Europe, in milliseconds. Just how amazing our God is? He has simplified the problem, and made it less challenging. It would take days to deliver a message, we can NOW do this in milliseconds, or even LIVE, via social media, with the click of a button.
Paul, had a message to deliver, and THIS was an important assignment from the LORD. He isn't playing around, he is serious about God's bussiness!
So now that we know how important this MESSAGE is, what was the message that was so important?
