Romans Chapter 7 [verses 1-13]

                         "Law vs Freedom"
                      Chapter 7 [verses 1-13]

A man that walks in the flesh gravitates towards the things of the flesh. Once that man dies to flesh, he no longer has desires to disobey God, and his commands. He is in line with laws that are spiritual, and seeks to please his master. The law will tempt, but it will have no affect on the one who has divorced it's confidant.

When you die to your flesh, and it's desires, you become its enemy, and a servant of Righteousnes. The law of the flesh, no longer applies to the spirit man, he is moved not by the letter of the law, but of the spirit.

Do you not understand that the law only binds slaves to it's power? Whichever one you serve, is the one who has authority over you. Serve in the old letter of the law, be slaves to sin, or serve in a newness of life, and have no desire to sin.

You who are alive, and free in Christ are no longer confined by the desires of the flesh, and are no longer bound by sinful desires. Law has no affect, the slave master has no rights, to the free man, he is not bound by the world, and is not bothered by it's toys.

The bible paints an illustration of a married woman who is bound to her husband, and how she can please him, but when the husband dies, she is no longer bound to him, but is free to marry another, the laws of marriage, no longer apply to her.

"Now we who are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the new way of the spirit, and not in the old way of the written code. "[verse 6]

The master; LAW used to confine you, and have power over you, but since you died with Christ on the cross, you are no longer married to the law, but are free from it. You are now a new person, full of new desires, and hopes, producing good fruit. In your old nature, sinful desires were at work, but now you are no longer controlled by your old desires. You no longer need to worry about the old laws, and it's customs, but serve in a new way of life; with your heart and mind.

Am I suggesting that these laws are evil, and are no good? No that is not what I am saying! the law is good, and perfect, but sin uses an opportunity to sway me off my feet, sin opens the door of opportunity for me to disobey God, through the perfect law of GOD. Sin uses an opportunity to condemn me, and place a guilt of burden upon me. If it wasn't for the law, I wouldn't have known, not to sin

Like I child who is told not to eat the cookies, I am now swayed by the desires of my flesh, to go get them. Had I not have been told the rules; I wouldn't have even come near them, but since I saw them, and were told not to, my flesh dared me to cross over, once I desired, sin was conceived in me, and thoughts were born to disobey. The lust of my eyes coveted, and made a commitment to steal, though I knew better, my flesh overpowered me. When my mother isn't watching me, sin has enticed me to break the rules, and I am ruled by it, then condemned for it.

What a wretched kid that I am. What I desire not to do, I do it, and what I don't want to do, I do it. I must renew my mind, and my heart to reject the thoughts, and look away, so I do not desire things that are not pleasing unto God, and things that are not good for me. The LAW is just the object, and is perfect and good but sin uses the opportunity to destroy, for it's own evil purposes.
