Hey there,

Wasn't chapter 1 quite an interesting topic? We went over the gospel, and consequences of rebellion. As we jump into the next chapter, we are going to find more treasures there. I'm always excited about reading scripture, because even if I read that verse before, I will get completely different revelation every single time. This is why it's so exciting to be on a journey, that God specifically pre-designed for you. Let's go!

Chapter 2 [verses 1-16]

"There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; 10 but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 11 For God does not show favoritism." [Verses 9,10]

The chapter opens up with the continuation of the letter directed to the Christians in Rome. I imagine Paul sending a social media message, where believers connect, to hear what the Lord has placed on his heart. I can just imagine the look on their faces... Ahhh Paul has lost his mind, he isn't talking to us; we are not rebellious, or prideful, or wise beyond our eyes[ you can find that study here] no Paul is not talking about us. Then surprise!! Paul is forwarding this letter to the whole body of Christ. No one is exempt from this message, NO ONE.

God is not a GOD of favoritism! If being a Christ follower, you happen to be involved in such things, you too are under God's wrath, and judgement. If God is setting up to punish them, do you think he will overlook your sins, because you are a "saint" NOO my dear you are held to the same standard as everyone else. Jews and Gentiles alike!

Yes he is patient, kind, and loving, but he is also a GOD of JUSTICE too. If you continue to entertain sin, and indulge in it, do not think he will overlook you. No you are also in danger of eternal punishment. If you have found a pattern of repeated sins, repent now, and do better, God is patient with you, but he also gives you a chance to turn from your sin. His kindness is meant to convict you, and convince you to turn away.

Just like sinners whose eyes are blind, you cannot see clearly too, you think you're alright with GOD, when in reality you are not. Sin is separating you from God, and you storing up punishment for yourselves. Everyone is waiting on a lamb, but the lamb has transformed into a LION, the LION is ready to release judgement upon anyone who disobeys him. He is coming back to take his bride, not to save, but to redeem, a bride that is without spot and wrinkle, a bride that is ready, and prepared to receive her KING.

Continue to patiently strive for perfection, for God is coming back, and he will terribly punish those who sin, and disobey him, without remorse.
God treats everyone the same! No favoritism in God's house! Everyone from small, to great will give an account of their lives, legalist or not, everyone will be held to God's standard, and his standard is the same for EVERYONE. God JUDGES the secret lives, our thoughts, and inner motives of our hearts. Let us be shown worthy, and found blameless in his sight.
